Really thinking about all of you in Cali and Oregon

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers! I know prayers don’t do shite and you probably aren’t offering them but it means a lot to know people are rooting for you.

Another lovely day in Seattle:
AQI station about a mile from me just reported 289 - under 300 anyway.

Over here we’re watching the AQI slowly creep up as the winds shift. It was 60 a little while ago then 80 and now 110. The forecast has us in the purple (200-300) starting tomorrow. Hopefully that will at least let you guys get some relief.

If I could cross the border, I'd be willing to help out

And hopefully you won’t get as bad as here, maybe the mountains and distance will dissipate it a bit. We were into the 300s earlier. I saw some ~500 readings in Oregon.

We had over 500 a couple of years ago and I don't ever want to deal with that again. Chewy air just ain't right. Hopefully we get some kind of moisture soon.

That orange dot was supposed to be the sun. Lake Stevens, WA.

Thx but all you non-MURICANS will just bring in Covid! Seriously though thank you. For the moment we think it’s more or less under control. Fingers crossed for a better autumn than summer.

I’m considering a trip to Salt Lake City if this doesn’t clear up. I woke up today feeling like I was breathing through razor blades.

My brother in law lives in Oregon and posted a few pictures on Wednesday. He said they were from noon that day. It’s absolutely surreal and looks like photoshop. He doesn’t think they’re in danger, but it still must be terrifying.

It’s still pretty clear here but getting worse.

That 10 hour drive is looking mighty tempting! I’m running an air purifier in my bedroom, though and it really does wonders.
I’ve heard when you’re dealing with wood-heavy smoke you have to apply LRAPA correction on PurpleAir since their sensors are tuned to deal with smaller particles. Makes me feel a lil better, anyway.

Some at least moderate chances of rain here starting late Monday - but of course that means nothing for you. The station nearest me is now 297, I am seeing readings of 300-400 in the area south of Yakima to the Tri Cities.

I made it all spring and summer without allergy problems this year, until yesterday. That haze has been tickling my nose something fierce.
Could be worse though.

Same, I got really sneezy because of this

Looks like a scene out of Total Recall.

Technically we're supposed to stay home for 14 days now.

Now they’re saying that the crap in the Tri Cities is going to be here around 7:00pm. Right now we’re around 170. There’s a chance of rain Tuesday but I’m not holding my breath, so to speak. The only silver lining is that my wife told me not to mow the yard.

They were a bit off. We’re over 300 now.

I was trying to decide if any Stephen King novels used the arrival of a delivery truck as foreshadowing but came up empty.

You’re in for it.
Some yahoo down the street was mowing his lawn about 9 this morning - just couldn’t wait a few days.
